Called (autodial) and stated that they need to speak to me or my attorney regarding an ongoing investigation. Left no name.

I've received a message saying something about some kind of ongoing investigation, but neither left me a name nor being specific about it. It sounds like a scam.

"Ongoing Investigation" is a buzz phrase used by debt collectors, by which they mean they are trying to find the debtor. It does not mean they have full documentation of an existing debt, or that they can prove they have a right to collect an existing debt.

When used by scammers pretending to be debt collectors, it means "looking for someone we can trick into giving us money by lying that that person owes us money on a debt (when there is no debt), or lying that we have a right to collect an existing debt owed to someone else."

I have been receiving the same calls.
