This BS with trouble with her headset must be a way to mask the delay from the time their equipment senses we've answered and the time they pick up the call. I've heard the exact same words from half a dozen different calls.
A lady said she has tried to contact me numerous times to let me know my home warranty has expired. The funny thing is I had just googled about my coverage with my REAL home warrenry company. What are the odds? Strange!
This is a scam that has been reported on the news, they say either "can you hear me?" or "sorry, I am having trouble with my headset, can you hear me?" That's to get you to say "yes" which is what they are after. Once you say yes, they will use that as a permission to sign you up for something, to keep calling or even use your voice to get bogus credit cards in your name.
DO NOT SAY YES or OK under any circumstances.
Couple things to say: "NO"
"You can call back when you get the headset fixed"
"Not interested"
