Be very careful when dealing with any organization that says they represent or aligns themselves with law enforcement. An internet search reveals that there are multiple organizations that use the words Ohio, State, Highway, Patrol, Troopers, Police, Association, Coalition, etc. Many are scammers. The legitimate groups employ professional fundraisers. This translates into "High overhead dollars with pennies actually sent to the charity". For an idea of what one group pulled off in 2007, check this website:

As always, if you want to donate, get a callback number and then check websites like Charity Navigator (www.charitynavigator.com) or the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.com).
One final caveat... money donated to some of these groups may not be tax deductible because they don't meet the criteria for a non-profit organization. Check before donating.
The 614 Area Code shown in the Caller ID is a hotbed of scam-calls for (allegedly) the Ohio State Patrol and other law enforcement groups, as well as cancer fundraisers, etc. My online call-blocking service stopped the call today after only one ring, so the service already knew the number belonged to scammers. Never answer calls from this number. About 45 different numbers that use the 614 Area Code have tried to call me this year, and all have been blocked by the call-blocking service. Beware.
