They called for spouse. Spouse working today. They politely stated they just try another day. I think it's a call from a charitable organization that he does give help to. I know they've called before. They didn't attempt to sell me anything, so am pretty sure it's something spouse does support. Stop being rude to those calling folks. They aren't at fault. These are people working to support their families. And although it's annoying, the complaints should be toward the govt for allowing it and the companies for insistently not complying; though some of them will. Congress is the one that allowed 'exemptions' for themselves (political calls) and non-profits and any company you do business with or give help to (profit or non-profit). If we want them to stop; the only way it will get done is through your legislators!! You're complaining to the workers who have no say over it.

In contract to the Feb 9th post, this person was not courteous and gave no indication that they were from a charitable organization.
After ignoring calls from this number for 5 straight days, I finally answered to find out who it was. They asked for my spouse. When I told them that they could speak with me, they insisted (rudely) on speaking to my spouse. I asked who was calling, and they promptly hung up.
I called back and heard a recorded message, saying they were sorry to miss me but they'll call again. This is unfortunate, because I've previously told these people to take me off their list.
It's the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ.org). Their beliefs and mine are worlds apart. (They're hyper-conservative and I am not.)
I'm not entirely convinced that this is ACLJ. Anyone can record a message and put it on an answering machine. The caller id says "Columbus OH". Upon further investigation through SPOKEO.com, the phone number is connected to a residential household, which to me is suspicious. You would think they would be calling from a business entity or a call center. Also, I've gotten calls from them in the past in which the caller id said "ACLJ" and the number was in either in VA or Washington, D.C. With all the data being stolen and proliferated all over the world on the internet these days, it's best to err on the side of caution. That being said, it may indeed be ACLJ, but if they get money from me, it willl be ME initiating the transaction, not some unknown person calling with a vague caller id. That's all I have to say, have a Merry Christmas everyone!
ACLJ would never solicit by phone and they definitely would not be rude or unprofessional. I have supported them for years. They do not operate like this.
