saying I had a payday bank loan which I still owed money on and had received certified letters about through years (NEVER) and that I should get a legal attorney to take on my state attorney who will be suing me for money I DO NOT owe.......I knew it was a scam and got as much info from them as I could.............have never received a certified letter in my life except for IRS for my father in the last few years.............just laugh at them and hang up............JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't answer call so they left a message, they don't say who they are or why they're calling just that its a legal matter and that if you don't return their call to resolve the issue that you will be taken to court and arrested. I called them back from my work phone and when i confronted them saying it was very unprofessional to not leave a name of who is calling and who they work for or the reason/case number they're calling about, the woman who answered then immediately had an attitude and asked "whats unprofessional" and when I repeated myself the line went silent and she wouldn't say anything so I hung up. This is a SCAM in my opinion I would block the number and not answer if they call you
I have been receiving calls from Ohio numbers - as Marissa stated they didn't identify themselves or the company they were calling from only said it was a legal matter and if I didn't resolve the issue they would be coming to get me. I called them back and spoke with John Roberts. He claimed I had a payday loan which was never repaid - and after numerous certified letters have gone unanswered this is my final notice. When I tried to tell him I did not have a payday loan and I did not receive any certified letters - he talked over me and said "lets just cut the bull and get to the meat of it." I asked him to hold and called one of my co-workers who is an attorney. He had me ask him the name of the company he was calling from (Pagano & Associates), the company I supposedly took the loan from, when I took it and where exactly was he calling from. He proceeded to get angry and talk over me which I politely asked him to stop doing. It was obvious he didn't like the questions I was asking and then said "look I'm getting sick of you talking to someone else while I'm trying to settle this debt with you. Are you accepting the offer I just gave you." My friend told me to hang the phone up. That is clearly was a payday scam and I should notify the Attorney Generals Office. I hung up on Mr. John Roberts - if that's even his real name.
