This number is Comenity Bank. They call frequently about charge accounts they control (there are MANY of them). I answer and they hang up. I call Comenity to work out my financial problems (I just had $880,000 worth of brain surgery and while I was hospitalized my mother and my best friend died 3 days apart! I have more surgery ahead of me and do not need this harassment.). I have a new lawyer as my Power of Attorney and he will be handling this. Sorry to see so many of you have the same problem with the same behavior. Illegal and unprofessional, especially for those of us who are already cooperating with Comenity Bank on any bills due--I was in a coma for a month (I don't make calls or write checks when unconscious). They call my house phone and cell phone and never leave messages.
They call MANY times a day - even as early as 7:45 a.m. on Saturdays or Sundays! Call comes up as "Ohio" and this phone number 614-754-4131 -- I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize (NO ONE DOES!!) I don't know anyone in Ohio, I don't do any business there. Any credit cards I do have (and I only have 1 store card - the rest are actual bank cards) All my cards are CURRENT and nearly paid off. I don't know who these people are as they never leave a message. I am tired of being harrassed! They also use a different number sometimes: 720-456- 3679 - That comes up as "Colorodo" -- again -- don't know anyone there, don't have any business there, don't have any cards from there. STOP CALLING ME!!
Comenity Bank, calling about my Pottery Barn card. Very nice guy. I answered, all ready to verbally abuse a telemarketer, and realized I forgot to pay a bill. :) the guy was super nice, and they had all my banking on file because I usually pay online. He just needed me to verify that it was okay to pay the bill. *he even asked which date was okay for the withdrawal to go through, so don't be afraid to answer.
Seriously, they're not "scumbag debt collectors," in response to another post. If you owe money you owe money, no one made you take out a credit card you couldn't afford.
I actually really appreciated the call to let me know. I paid in full, but they guy said they would take as little as $30, and on whatever date I chose, FYI
They call every day on my cell phone, sometimes twice a day, never leave a message. I have a comenity account (Lane Bryant) but I'm current on my payments, so I have no idea why they are calling. I'm blocking them right now!
They called asking if I was "so and so". I asked how I could help them. They said are you "so and so". I asked who was calling and they hung up. I called the number back got a very nice lady. I said I had just got call and was hung up on. We established that I had just missed my March payment. We took care of it and everything is fine.
