Have gotten a call at least once a week from this area code. Sometimes there's just dead air, sometimes they just say "hello" a couple of times - they've also referred to me by name; mostly men.
Answered and they did not respond. Said hello again and man started talking. From fallen officers something or another and wanted to speak to the gentlemen or lady of the house. Let them give their speech and said they wanted to know if they could count on our support. (wanted money) told them i was the dog caretaker and the people of the house were out of town. Said they would call back later. Called from 614-808-4237 shows up on id as grove city, ohio.
Caller ID doesn't list a city anymore, it now just shoes the phone number & the phone number again. That's because these scammers are starting to read these complaint sites so now they're hiding the city of the fake number they're calling from.
Man called at 12:46 p.m. today. My caller ID just says the number and "OHIO CALL." Man asked for Jonathon. I told him that was my ex-husband and we divorced 13 years ago (which is the truth). He seemed annoyed and replied "Well, I have the right number, just the wrong name." He then launched into his speech about calling on behalf of some police charity, blah, blah, blah ... and then informed my that he was going to be sending out some information to me. I hung up at that point. I figured a legitimate caller would not have been so rude.
