Get calls from this number 3 and 4 times a day. I don't answer because I don't know the number, they never leave a message. If it was that important I guess they would leave information. Someone stop these people from the harassment
This was a man, speaking very rapidly. I couldn't tell whether he was saying "ARS" or "IRS". He left a 5 digit reference number. I had to play the message 4 or 5 times until I could figure out what he was saying.
I googled the number and it comes up as a debt counseling service. I have no idea who these people are or why they want to contact me - most definitely unsolicited.
To date, I have gotten 4 calls from the same number 614-848-9800 asking to speak to a man that is my son-in-laws dead grandfather. This guy was absolutely tenacious and annoying. I thought that he said he was from "Amerisys". I told him that he was violating my privacy and that I had warned them to stop calling me. He asked if I would give this person that he was looking for his number I said ok and he said that his name was Ed Morgan and to call back at that number and dial ext. 2927. I then told him thank you for giving me his name and number and that I was going to try to give it to the proper authorities to investigate, which I fully intend to do. My son in law is an attorney and will take care of him.
A real pain in the [***], I wanted to pound the pee out of him!!
My experience was quite different. A woman from this number called the the main number of a large company. She was nice at first; asked for the owner of the company by name (who is located at our main office in Japan). Right away, I knew it was a b.s. call. I asked her what the call was in reference to so that someone located in our office could help her. She got agitated and asked for the CFO. Again, I asked her for the name of her company and what the call was in reference to. She said, "Just give me Accounts Receivable!" I again asked for the name of her company; when we forward calls, we tell our employee the name of the person calling and the company they work for - it's standard practice. She said she represented a client of ours; I asked her which one, so that I could direct her the the right person in A/R (they split up accounts into 3 groups of the alphabet). She then got really hateful and said, "I ain't playin games with you! Give me someone's name right now!" I told her that I'm not going to play games with her either and hung up the phone. She then called back over 25 times (sometimes using several lines at once). Each time, I either let it go to voice mail or hit Speaker twice to hang up on her. If this woman worked for Amerassist, that company should train their employees a little better. She was very rude and slightly ignorant when it comes to general office procedure; also, why the secrecy??
I received a call from the above reference number. Asked for "James" (our company owner) whom I told her was not available. I knew it was a solicitor so I asked her to take our name off of her list. She replied "I can't take your name off our list as this is a credit matter and you are not the owner so it doesn't matter"..she then HUNG UP ON ME. I called the number back and spoke to Fran Clayton. She said there were 11 people working and she felt she knew who it probably was that hung up on me but when she asked the 11 people working, no one would fess up. Then today, I received another call from a very polite gentleman again asking for the owner. When I told him he was not in he replied that he would try again another time. I told him that I recieved a call from his company yesterday in which he replied that he had not called yesterday and before I could proceed any further he cut me off and said he'd call back and HUNG UP ON ME... I was as polite as he was and although he was not rude as the girl before was, it apparently is their practice to hang up on people if they speak to anyone other than the owner. I am going to report them to the BBB.
This corporation is called Amerassist... apparently some debt consolidation or debt receivable corporation. The woman named Maguita leaves the number to call back as a fax number... this is the number: 877-900-5300. Her extension is 2918. After researching the company, here's the number to call: 614-848-9800. She's looking for for someone I've never heard of before but is persistently calling despite the fact that I've repeatedly asked for her not to call the number again.
If Shannon Epperson is out there... call this woman back so she'll leave me the heck alone!
