I've been dealing with exact same people! I finally had enough and told them how I felt. They ending up hanging up on me...what true reputable business person hangs up on someone!!! They are frauds who prey on the innocent.
Got a call from this number today from a Michael Clark stating he was a compliance officer (no company name provided). Gave me a case #, said my case was of public record, and that if i didn't respond further action would be taken. Gave me a phone number to call 844-338-8371 and said if I called them, he wouldn't have to take further action. Cannot find info on either phone number provided. Wondering if this is just a scam?
These people called me today with the same message as the person above, except it was a woman. They called my work, which was strange. They referred to a much older address and a "complaint against my name" in my old state. They said the mail wasn't getting to my address in the other state. I can't think of any crime I would have committed there to warrant this many years later. I have debts, and they've sold my info many times, but this seems different. A debt is a civil matter, not a criminal one, and they cannot have you arrested for it. They can sue you though, but I thought they weren't supposed to service you over the phone? Very suspicious.

This has to be a scam. The actual Regional Litigation Services filed a complaint with the FTC because these scammers are impersonating them and using only part of their name. These people are disgusting.
This is a scam. I've contacted the police regarding this because I've received other "threatening" calls from similar organizations due to my information being stolen. The police and FTC are having issues with these types of organizations that make harassing and threatening calls to convince you to pay money for items that do not exist. If you speak with them request that they mail you the documentations as proof. You must receive notice via U.S. Postal Service. Also if a company were to serve you with papers they do not call and "warn" you first. They simply file the matter and a process server or police officer will come to your work or home and serve them to you. Any billing company that is legitimate will physically mail you their bills and contact you directly if you didn't pay you'll see it reflected on your credit report. Don't give out any of your information!! These scams are disgusting and ridiculous.
