This caller asked my name and stated that my son had run over their family member and that they were in the mafia and would not call the police. They only wanted $3500. I stayed silent on the phone while they insisted or they would kill him. Since I didn't respond they hung up, but they kept calling. I called the police and they said that there's nothing they could do....just Google 616 phone scam.

The guy calling said his name was Tony Cruz. Gives Latin people a horrible name. Threaten to kill my family when the dumb moron couldn't even get his story straight. I pray the internet gods find this f----- and get the rest of this gang of theives.
This spanish guy called & said my brother. Been. In a accident. With his mom & family. They are holding him pay 3000 dollars. Or they. Will. Kill him..i told. Him go ahead. Cause. Little do he know. I have. No brother.
Same story as the others, only they took it a bit further. This guy figured out a way to let me talk to my family member who was also being duped into thinking one of us was in danger. He had me on one line and my family member on another line, and basically held one phone up to the other to let us "talk" to each other. These people are total scumbags. Report the numbers to the Federal Trade Commission and your State Attorney General's office if they contact you. This way there's a better chance of catching them.
