This number called me four times in a row. Starting at 11:09 am to 11:12 am I thought maybe it was an emergency call from family but they didn't leave a message so I came here to check it out. I will block this number on my cell p;hone and maybe call Verizon and see what they can do about it.
This is a weird call. It rings and when you answer it hangs up. When you call back it says they got your phone number from an on line inquiry you made about a job. I did not do any such thing. They have an option to be added onto their "do not call list" so I chose that option...not surprised that I have continued to receive the calls even though I activated the DO NOT CALL option.
These calls are coming in 2x a day right now, they are disruptive and harassing. I am going to block this number on my Verizon account now. I hope they stop.
When a scam artist calls and dupes you into calling back, as you did, by they then know your number is "live," and available for them to scam and they can also sell your number to other scammers. By pressing anything when you call back it further identifies your number as one to hit up repeatedly. It's good that you can block this number, because they will not stop now.
This is an automated voice recognition dialer that tries to get you interested in furthering your education. That may be useful for unemployed people in their 20's and 30's - this is certainly not appropriate for people in their 60's. The responder even admits it is "not a computer" and of course it is.
