They have called my cell phone my work phone, and othe family members refusing to state who they are and why they are calling until I provide them with my name, address and ss# for verification. when I tell them that since I don't know who they are, I'm not giving them any pertinent info so they need to tell me who they are and they say they can't until I confirm the info. So I hang up on them. Now I don't even answer the phone and they don't leave any kind of name or number either.
This is a collection company that uses all kinds of crazy tactics to get you to answer the phone. They use a zillion different 800, 888, 866 numbers and now that they used an area code from our area, that's a new one. They are not even located in Boston but called from a 617 area code!
They have called repeatedly and have hung up on our answering machine.

It's most likely an internet call, minimizing their costs, whilst they annoy & harass those of us that do not owe their clients a red cent.
It's laughable, we were given area codes a few years back and clearly anyone can manipulate & exploit us into thinking it's a local call, when the company is in Houston TX.
Voip is really groovy eh. 617- 202-3889 called and hung up again, I'm reporting them again ( does it do any good?) to do not call, I have no business with this or any collection agency if that is what they indeed are & do. Imo they are like leeches, will adhere to anyone at all.
