Received two calls from that number. Verified with CapitalOne Fraud Dept., that is a legitimate number for their Fraud Department Investigation. If you want to verify it yourself, call CapitalOne as listed on your card or their webpage, or call the Fraud Dept. directly at 1-800-427-9428. Would be nice if the Caller ID said who it was rather than "unavailable".
I agree with the poster, CAdot. This is the CapitalOne Fraud Department number. When I answered, an automated voice informed I will be receiving forms in the mail to be filled out, signed and returned (I reported unauthorized use of my credit card a few days ago).
This is from Capital One Bank about your unauthorized transactions. I recenlty had my credit cards stolen, and in a matter of 12 hours, I had $1360 worth of bogus charges, all at gas stations. Some idiot must have called up every one of his friends and said free gas on this stolen credit card.
I did receive 2 calls from this number, but being fearful of ID theft, I called Cap One directly and verified the information with a call *I* started. I do not give out ANY information to anyone calling me personally.
