This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number. It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.massfop.org. Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for Massachusetts police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

Most charities that call you begging for money for the police are frauds. I'm not sure about this one, but most of them keep 60-95% of the money you donate for themselves.
If they were legitimate, they wouldn't hide their name on the caller ID, and they wouldn't be constantly changing their number. That's a trick to get you to answer and to keep you from blocking their calls.
And there's the fact that they never leave a message. That's an almost sure sign of a scam.
They've called me 17 times this year from 11 different numbers, all of which begin with 617-245-96
I know one of their undercover stooges will tell me I should call them to get off their list. That's exactly what they want. Then they'll have my ear and try to sleaze-talk me. I'll get even more calls. The call will take more time than it's worth, because they'll prevent me from getting to my point.
