Who called from 6172899882

We got a call from this number today at 7:04 pm and didn't answer. The caller ID was BROTHERS, BROWN. No voice mail message was left. When I called back I heard a tone which sounded like a fax machine. Perhaps the number was spoofed.

These people keep calling and this is unsolicited. So much for the national do not call list. Why doesn't washington enforce the laws they pass. Do not answer the number and report them. Thank you.

Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone..  You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

The Federal DNC does not work. I get 10-20 calls a day and none of them are political or charitable. They are all commercial or scams. One should not have to invest in a call blocker.

Tinfoil hats on too tight, loosen it up some so your brain can breath! People who discourage others from filing complaints and trying to protect themselves are usually illegal telemarketers or scammers.
