calls every day, you pick up to dead space and a robot saying goodbye. you call back and all you can do is press 1 to go on DNC list, but they keep calling

By pressing one, all you did was confirm they have a live number. ROT: Never answer numbers you do not recognize, do not press any number to be removed from the list and do not call them back you never know if your phone bill will take a hit for $$ calling numbers back.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Trying to sell extended warranty for vehicles whose factory warranty had just run out.

Already on the DNC list.  In doing research  this number 617-297-9573, 617-318-4013 and 617-674-0767 are all calls from the same source using switches(scammer lingo)  they keep calling even when the numbers have been blocked for over a year on both landline and cell numbers  they have 3 scams free trip, auto warranty  and other scams.   I am making a complaint to the FCC again.  And the more times everyone files complaints they will have to turn off these phones.

Have been called by FIDELITY MUTUAL (today it was Jeanette) at least 5 times in the past week. This is a telemarketer selling car warranties.

So help me out here. Why on earth would I ever want to buy from a company that I can't even trust to stop calling me? Like their warranties will be of any value.
