Caller ID says "Boston MA". They leave no message.
I call back after hours (using *67 to block my number). Their message identifies them as the Humane Society of the U.S. They are calling about a ballot measure in MA to "ban the cruel confinement of animals in factory farms". They have some kind of associated "kickoff" events and want me to attend. They give a website for additional info: www.CitizensForFarmAnimals.com/kickoff (I added capitalization for clarity). They also have a phone number for additional questions, (617) 522-2016. There is an option for their Do-Not-Call list (I never do this as it can make things worse).
I can't say that I appreciate them spoofing their caller ID. They could have left their outgoing message as a message. My guess is that they want to build a list of live numbers by seeing who calls back. I am assuming that if I took this as a live call that they would request a donation.
