Yet another call from the "free home security system" scammers. This one had the caller ID of just "Massachusetts." In googling the number, it looks like it actually belongs to some professor at MIT.

Got a call from this one, selling home alarm systems. I googled it and the number is that of a Chinese MIT professor. That could mean that someone hacked MIT's phone system; the professor is trying to earn some money on the side; or it's just a faked ANI.
One ring. No voicemail. Added to my "do not ring / do not answer" list. If indeed these calls are being spoofed, then I would hate to be the unfortunate MIT professor who apparently owns this number.
Just got the same call from this number. I hung up and immediately received a call from 949-209-0036 saying they got a dropped call from my number and wanted to know if I would like more information on their security systems. Obviously said no. Called back the 617 # and there was a message indicating that someone was using that number / it was hacked. And the man (sounded asian) apologized and said he is hoping to sue. This call comes in several times a week!
