These people are absolute scam artists. They represent Champion Energy and after calling MULTIPLE TIMES PER DAY telling my receptionist it is about our past due energy bill (and then hanging up when she puts them on hold). I finally talked to to someone - they can give you NOTHING in writing but are insisting on "verbal verification to process your order". Process my order for what?? They do NOT like being questioned. When I asked for a supervisor I was transferred to a man that hung up on me after I asked for something in writing. The VERY SPECIFICALLY told me "fine, if you don't give me the verbal verification, you will be in for a BIG shock on your November energy bill!". What?? EverSource needs to get control of people that are calling and spouting off against them. This is ridiculous.
This number has called my business a number of times. It always comes up as "Cambridge", so of course I have to pick it up. Each previous time I picked up, I got the usual "no one there". This time, as I was about to hang up, I hear a voice. This person names "Anthony" is calling from Champion Energy, who is part of some National Grid program that is supposed to save me 25% each month because we are over paying. Of course, he needed to verify "two pieces of information" before we could proceed. He asked me if I got the notice in my July National Grid bill, which of course I didn't. I said I'd have to take a look...can I call him back? This game went on for several minutes, with me continuiously telling him I didn't have time for this right now, could I call him back? So I finally hung up. Don't fall for these "energy program" scams.
