Keep receiving calls from this number. Leave no voicemails. I called back and the person told me it was a financial intitution and started asking a whole bunch of questions that of course I didn't provide to her because she didn't give me much information about that institution.
Caller told me she was "so and so" of Convergent Outsourcing. She then asked if she was talking to "Joe Schmo", which I did not confirm for her. Instead, I responded back by asking who she was. She rudely repeated her same introduction as though I should have known who was calling me (even though she must not have understood the question behind my question). I asked what she was calling about and she informed me that in order to share that confidential information with me I would first need to confirm some personal info such as my home address. I retorted with the same line to her indicating that I was not going share any personal information with a cold caller unless I know more about her and her company.
So I asked for more info about her company and she gave me the name "Convergent Outsourcing Inc" and shared the following num: 800 350 9095, plus her extension (If you look that 800 num up in Google it is clearly a collection agency - though from my conversation with this individual, I could not have reached that conclusion). I told her that I was driving at the time and couldn't continue talking, and that I would do my own research and call her back and we ended the call. She was definitely not a friendly caller though. There was a clear bullying tone that was evident in her voice. Perhaps that's because I didn't give her what she wanted.
On a personal note, it just so happens that we have been in the middle of moving for the past several months and there were a couple of small medical bills that we had not paid. I took this as my queue to clean up any historical bills by contacting the original billing hospitals/physicians directly and getting them to share who I should contact to pay off those bills. None of my follow-up with the hospital lead back to the bottom feeder or company noted above. With that done, I am hopeful that I have heard the last of this caller and will heed the advice from a related thread to block that caller if they call again. If that doesn't work, there are suggestions to send a legal type letter to the company covering Fair Credit Act and Debt Collection Practices.
Call from this number to my cell telephone had no voice contact, but immediately went to a busy signal. Unknown caller identified, but courtesy of "Joe Schmoe" it seems to be Convergent Outsourcing. It is an authentic corporation in Massachusetts, where I reside presently, but although it's listed in the Commonwealth's corporation database it seems not to be listed in the Consumer Affairs Licensing database for Debt Collectors. I went to the company's website and I both told them not to call again using their do not call request, but sent an email message demanding their fax number so I may write the do not call letter, sign it, and fax it to them, so they only send me snail mail. I may need to send their letter to their offices in Renton WA. Registered agent is in Weymouth MA. If these *******s call me again and try to mess with me, I'll have to snail mail a nasty letter and tell them to go jump.
Received a call from the same number. I picked up and they Hung up. I called back and it went to voicemail and I can't leave a message because it's full. There is a message saying for covering extension dial *0 and when you do that the life gets disconnected.
