I am a county employee. I have receive 7 or 8 calls from this number on my direct personal line at work. When I answer I just get hung up on. I don't have a wells fargo card nor do I give out my direct line to any creditors. Future calls that come from this number, I will just pick up the receiver and hang right back up.
A recording saying they were fro Wells Fargo saying there has been a security breach with my credit card. They wanted my number. I do not have a wells Fargo account
I got the same message. It was a recording from "Wells Fargo" saying there is a security breach with my account. I was asked to push 1 to reach someone. I hung up immediately.
received a phone call on my Cell phone, which was weird to begin with. It was an automated message saying that my debit card had been locked out and to unlock it to press 1. It said the name of the financial institution, but it was kind of garbled. I immediately hung up and called my Credit Union to find out if what they said was correct. They said my accounts were fine and that it was probably a phishing attempt.
According to my phone ID, the Phone number this came from is: 617-861-6398 out of Boston, MA.
I called the number back and got a recording "this call is very important to us, please stand by and you will be connected to the next available agent".. I hung on for a little bit and no agent came on.
