I got a text message from this number telling me I was randomly selected for a $1000 gift card from Best Buy. It knew my first name. It gave the web address PrizePickUp.com to claim it.
Suuure.
I see that this is a widespread scam involving many originating phone numbers.
I never had problems until I joined Facebook. It Although I never posted personal information, somehow someone hacked into my Yahoo address book, and sent a stupid email about a great place to buy Viagra. I changed my password, and never accept those stupid hearts and quizzes, etc from friends - and things cooled down. Now I am thinking someone I know from FB had their email address book hacked - and they had my carefully guarded cell phone number on it - and I got on some scamster's list.
