Being on the Do Not Call list makes no difference. I've been on it for several years. About a month ago I made an 800# call to my insurance company and got "welcome to Talk America", I hung up,... ever since then I've been getting about 10 calls a day, which are using up all my cell plan minutes. So FRUSTRATING!

If anyone is there, they ask for someone I don't know. When I tell them they have the wrong number and please take me off their list, they hang up.
Scam after scam -- when will it end? Maybe when "Do Not Call" starts working (22nd Century?). I turned off my ringer about 2 months ago, but the answering machine is on, so I can hear when someone starts talking. Of course, with these relentless ding-dongs, they never talk; they just pester and annoy.
