I got the same exact call yesterday. I let her go on with her canned speech for a bit then she was going to transfer me to the person who would apparently try to take all my $$. I said, "wait, stop, stop, listen. First I don't stay at resorts, I only use Airbnb.." then click, she hung up. Here name was "Emily".  I wanted to give her a bit of advice about scamming. I wanted to tell her that if she dialed it down a bit and didn't sound like a school girl going to prom, that she would probably get better results. ..........

Received a call twice from 619-374-8317. Caller ID only said San Diego and the phone number, the first sign of an illegal robo call. The second call we received (on the east coast) at 7:15 am, woke us up after a long night due to illness. We will be filing a consumer complaint with the FCC.

Same chippy woman saying I won a free trip to a resort. I answered because it was my area code ( which I just heard on NBC is the new scam technique.
They are trying to answer to get you to use the word " yes" like to the question are you between the ages of 21-45.  then they can defraud you. Never again "yes" always answer with the question " who are you calling.".

NBC is years too late with the using your own area code since scammers have been spoofing numbers close to the intended victim's phone number for years.  Makes people more likely to pick up.  As to the "yes" scam, not one single person has been scammed that way, which is why the news report says might or maybe.  The yes is actually a prequalifier to the scam sales pitch.
