Funny as it may seem. I was working on 2014 taxes at the time I returned call to 619.378.0051, knowing that this was a San Diego area code because my mom lived there before her decent. The voicemail was muffled, I could not understand who was calling or what company they were calling from but the urgency of returning the call had me concerned that maybe a family member may be in need. Just as I was told by an attorney, everything I've read about this number just turned my world upside down. I am alone and doing my best in catching up after being a part time employee for three years and only months ago became full time. The lady with the thick ascent was livid with me about back taxes. The cops were on their way to arrest me and put me in jail for three years. She was calling my employer now who will fire me and they would take my wages, my home, my assets..... I thought they had a wrong number. She asked for a case number which I didn't have and once again advised that they must have a wrong number. She asked for my phone number and then stated my name, Joanna Sarant. I advised that I owed the government last year but it has been paid in full. There hasn't been any notification sent to me otherwise. She hung up as I gave her the dates I made payments last year. Like I said before, I'm currently doing my taxes. This was the most horrible experience! Up there with watching my mom lose the battle to brain cancer. My father and Uncle shortly after also from cancer. I've been on anxiety meds since 2001 after being attacked while washing my car. Near death experience. This conversation / argument through me into a panic attack and I couldn't feel my legs. Over and over I asked who she was and the company she was calling from. No comment........ I pray that you find out who is making these devastating calls and false accusations. Thanks in advance for allowing me to get some of this burden off my chest. I feel as if I can breath a little better now, but going to work is out of the question.
just got a voice mail message from the same guy with the accent saying he is an officer from the IRS and needed to speak to me or my retained attorney due to criminal actions! THIS GUY IS A TOTAL SCAM!!
I also received the same call this Indian also had my social security number don't know how he came about getting that but he's also a new information on me that I had made arrangements with the IRSI don't know what he intends to do other than create false identities for himself and try to charge accounts to me so I will leave signing up for life lock Monday morning Thanks you freaking. I received a phone call from this phone number and a man with an accent, supposedly named Alex Watson, gave me a case number of 3h94436, left a message saying that he was with the IRS and that criminal charges were being filed against me and it was a time sensitive issue and that I must not disregard the message. He also said that if myself or my attorney didn't call back that he wishes me good luck as the situation unfolds on me.
Had a friend call this number back pretending to be an attorney representing the party he called in his case number. He keep insisting on having the number that they called but my friend kept insisting they should be able to look up the number based on any information they have in that case number. They kept hanging up on my friend. After he called back several times they then stopped answering my friends calls.
IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.
