That has to be the best idea I have heard yet, I am going to try this the next time they call me because I know it will be soon. They have already called me 5 times with in 2 hours. I will let you know how it goes :-) Thank you for the ideas.
They called me and tolld me he was looking at my file, giving me the wrong name, but telling me I had a bladder removed!! Then he asked about other surgerys and i told him since he had "my file" in front of him, he dhould tell me what surgerys I had if any. He said his name was Peter Parker, so naturally I laughed, couldn't understand him, but he is from India (no offense to anyone). Then asked about compensation and $$ so I told him I will have someone (BBB) contact him in Calif.
I got 2 calls from same number.When I get calls from out of state numbers I don't recognize I don't say anything at first then when they start talking and I hear the accent I will say something like "Johnsons Funeral Home" (in a very quiet voice of course) or "Homicide. Jackson speaking". My favorite that was suggested but I have never used is "The job is done but I had to use a knife and now there is blood everywhere".
Recieved 4 calls from this number, finally since I have been applying across the country for jobs I thought I should answer. Exactly what others have posted... Medical Service Department...besides not being legitimate I'm sure, I couldn't even understand the gentelman(?)
I have been getting too numerous to count similar calls from all across the country, you answer and unfortunately it's someone with an Eastern Indian dialect, but they have 'American' names i.e. Bob Jones,
Mike Smith, Valerie Anderson, etc. There are similar sounding voices in the background, once I hear their name I usually yell at them not to call back. But sure enough maybe a month or so later they call with another scam. The best was the "attorney", again with same dialect, with an American name, but this guy tries to be so mean! LOL! The first time I recieved this type of call I genuinely got scared and called a friend who advised me that it was another scam. I think he was from the Federal Bureau of Medical Debt, whatever it was it's non-existant. They make up real sounding government names. The guy on the phone told me that the police will be coming to my house to arrest me, etc. I wish something could be done about these scammers.
