Got several calls from this number stating that they have 4 charges against me and a warrant. They said that I should call the number back as soon as possible or have my lawyer call them to avoid the legal actions being taken against me. They say that they are representing the IRS.
Called me. I answered. No one spoke. They hung up. I called the number back. A male answered with "How may I help you?" I asked "Why did you call me?" ... He hung up immediately. (Lots of office background noises/voices as one would hear in a crowded call center.)
I've called back 9 times. No answer. Voice recording "The person you are calling is not available,"
I called back and asked who is this....male said ... after long pause United States Treasury. Who am I talking to. Then demanded and said I asked you a question. I hung up.
I received a call from this number, they announced my name and address and said that there are 3 criminal charges against me and that a warrant is issued. So I played along, They asked me If I had an attorney, I said no, they said, that wanted the sum of $9000 to stop the warrant! I told them I was a Federal Informant, they told me they work with all the agencies. So I told them I'll pass their phone number to the FBI, they hung up! It definitely was a scam call center. They read from a list of senior citizens trying to intimidate them into giving money. I hope in this day and information age, that we don't fall for some phone scams from abroad, like Nigeria, Pakistan etc. This is the free trade that Obama has set up to make it easy for criminals to exist.
