Called from Linjinston & Brooks alledging default on a NetLoanUsa payday loan of April 2011. Did not have the bank they were alledging this was deposited into at that time and never did business with this "company." "They will be sending the information to my state within the next 24 hours as they are sure they have enough information to prosecute." - direct quote from AMBER
Get real - if you are going to move forward with something like this - you do it! You don't calol adn warn people they will be prosecuted.
Had a few calls from this number and decided to answer today. The person on the phone said that they are responding to charges being filed against me, and want a lawyers number that they can contact. First, if there was anything being leveled against me, I would be getting served papers. I would be contact by a law enforcement agency, or something similar.
When I pressured the person on the line for what these allegations were, and that this call was incredibly suspicious, they hang up immediately.
I tried calling back, gave them my info, and the line went dead for 5-7 minutes. No one ever came back.
I received calls from this number many times a day for the last two weeks and was asked to press 1 to talk to someone and I did a few times but no one answer until today. Someone with a strong eastern accent and I had a hard time figuring out if it was a she or a he, but anyway she/he came to the phone and she/he has my physical address, email & last 4 of my SSN and my bank institute information. She said that "NLU Financial" is filing criminal complaints toward me for a loan she/he claims that I applied online using my checking account as collateral to pay them within 2 weeks. I asked for the amount & and transaction date and mail me the documents but she/he tried to avoid answering me. She/he threaten that "THEY" as in "NLU Finacial" is really moving forward with criminal charge if I don't respond within 24 hrs and also said that I should get a lawyer. I got upset, yelled at her/him and hung up. 30 minutes later, I called back and another guy picked up and I asked for the company name, he said it's LNB Mediation and I requested to talk to that lady/guy and she/he came to the phone then said "we spoke" then she/he hung up.
