First I've heard of that tactic... you should have known the moment the started talking about 'roast beef'. Given the majority of India revere the cow as holy, seems pretty unlikely they would promote the consumption of their beloved cows.
The numbers are spoofed, faked on your phone. I could call from 212-911-1234.. phone company don't care neither do your government representatives. They are off stuffing their face with their lobbyist buddies.
My machine vs Their Machine -- Phone blocker app I use is faster than theirs. Got 23 calls in a period of 2 min. Have to say moving to a white list only is total bliss. Phone never rings, buzzes or nothing, just silently hangs up on the calls that aren't on my approved list, pure heaven.
My only wish is that they would keep calling, tie up their lines.
