The cat litter box rejects have been calling for years about someone whose debt is 12 years old. I tell them there's no one here by that name but the assclowns keep calling. Just save all their numbers under "[***]" so I can answer and hang up. If they're gonna keep calling, they might as well pay for the call...over & over & over. What wastes of perfectly good oxygen...
If you have a smart phone get "Call Control." They have compiled a list of numbers of collections, telemarketers and general harassment phone numbers in their community block list. You'll never even notice the call!!!
Check your states statue of limitations, most 3 yrs for credit cards, loans, and other debts, but anything tied to home ownership mortgage and home equity loans 7 years. every state is different. If they try and get in touch with you (mail, in person, phone, internet, even attachments without a court involved) and you respond, you start the statute of limitations all over: SO don't respond, do not talk with anyone, don't answer phone, reply on internet, or even refuse letter and send it back. Destroy anything coming in the mail, do not accept registered letters from anyone you don't know...
