What is scary is, you cannot 'get rid' of these scammers. Used to be you could pick up/hang up a landline to break the call, or, as was the case today, hit 'Reject' on your cell. I did that today (the latter) and it called back two more times within the SAME MINUTE. Thought I was going to have to turn OFF my cell to get RID of them, but finally stopped at the third attempt.
Are the robodialers now programmed to redial like this? Or is this a live scumbag not wanting to give up on a potential victim???
This number called 3 times on a cell phone. I didn't answer......the number wasn't recognized, and I googled it to confirm that it was a scam number.
I think the scammers use the DNC list as a list of valid numbers to call.
Ditto on everything already written. Only thing to add is, if you call this number back, because say you're interested in the swindle Heather has to offer, it just repeats a recording saying, "If you are not interested, press '1' to be removed." Which, of course, is about as useless a trying to call someone using a Fisher-Price toy phone.
