I let it go to the answering machine. The voice sounded very distorted and unintelligible. Obviously a solicitor of some sort.

You only received one phone call?  I have had SEVEN calls in the last 24 hours.  They keep asking for someone who I don't know and I keep telling them to quit calling me.  Tomorrow I am reporting this number.  I think it may be political in nature, but it does not matter.  QUIT CALLING ME!!!
