Florida - this is really interesting that you stated that this is "Discover" considering I went to their website and called them directly at (800) 347-2683 and spoke with Aiesha in Ohio who advised me that they have absolutely NO company numbers at all in the 623 area code...
Are you and some of these other posters possibly part of Van Ru Credit or whatever scam this could be??? I highly doubt that an actual employee of Discover Financial would not have a record of their company having ANY phoen numbers in the 623 area code unless at the very least this is outsourced and even then, it would still not be "Discover Financial" it would be whatever company is contracted to make their calls - still, I doubt that Discover would ever contract a third party to make calls to check on fraud considering the nature of the issue...
They called me to ask about some suspicious charges on my Discover card (from 2 days earlier). I rarely use this card, but there was a promotion at my local mall, so I did all my shopping that day (7 different stores) on that card. I really appreciated the call, because that behavior / pattern is exactly what would have happened had some valley girl stolen my card (no offense to all the honest valley girls out there!)
"Discover Financial" kept calling and not leaving messages on my cell phone. I do not have or do business with Discover Financial. I called the number back and asked to removed my cell number from their calling list. They said they'd remove the number after asking my name and cell number, etc.
