Starting to get Calls Like this the past month...I think it's a computer looking for callers to pickup. When I flip open my cell phone, the call is over, and there is "restricted", NO- NAME, Unlisted in the caller ID...
I'm on the do not call list- but I suspect that since political calls are exempt, they're gathering a list to sell the [***] wipes running in the fall.
Computer voice said there was a problem with my Wells Fargo Debit card and that an emergency block had been put on my card. To remove the block press 1 to be sent to their security department. So I played along, I don't have a Wells Fargo account of any type. It ask for the last 4 numbers of my social and the 16 digit debit card number. I hung up at this point in did put in a fake SS number and 16 random numbers just to see where it went. Failed so I hung up.
I got this same call inquiring about my WELLS Fargo acct. Called the number. It is being using fraudulantly. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO. I have never given my cell number out to more than a very few people. Somehow they are getting it. Watch out for it. A real phishing scam!
