It was over 2 years ago that the thieves began calling my unlisted number, they already knowing my name, that I owwned my modest home, and also that I'm old and likely to be addled and demented... their primary victims...
This number called today. I didn't recognize it so I didn't answer. Googled the number before the phone had stopped ringing, found it in 800 Notes, and added to my call blocker. They'll never ring my phone again.
I think these scammers call during working hours to try and catch retired or elderly people who are more likely to be home.
I really would like to know a success story with one of these alleged contractors that repeatedly call without leaving a voice message. I kept record and yes they were calling last year about this time.
