I took the call. The man identified himself as a handyman. He said his name was Eric Hampton. I asked him the name of his company. He said it was Hampton Construction. Then he said they had built some of the largest buildings in Los Angeles. I asked him if I could take a minute and look up his company on the contractors licensing website. He said, by all means. So I did and I told him I did not find any company with an active license by that name. So I asked him for his contractor's license number. He gave me the number 919801. While I was looking that up, he hung up. That contractor's license number was cancelled four or five years ago and the name of the company was not Hampton.. So you can make what you want of this call.
