Caller said he was from Windows, I asked for a number to call back and the man (with a very heavy accent) gave me a different # than was on the caller ID with an extra digit, when I pointed this out he promptly hung up.
You need to beware of these guys who are from other countries like India etc. I am A+ certified and had a friends father who allowed them to access his computer and they planted a virus then wanted hundreds of dollars to repair it. Once they get the money you are left with an infected computer. With this virus they block your antivirus program and can monitor any online transactions including banking. Microsoft will never call you and needless to say you can't get in touch with Microsoft either. What I did with my friends father's computer was completely restore it back to factory that is the only safe way to be sure the virus is gone because you don't know what program or file they attach the virus.
