I have found a way to get all these numbers to stop ringing my phone! I have a Google Voice number. I have added these numbers to my contacts on Google Voice and blocked them. At night, when I check my 'missed calls', I notice that the cell phone does not ring when these numbers call. I have Google Voice set up to accept all messages from my cell phone too.
If you decide to get a Google Voice number, I strongly suggest not using your existing number because it does not have all the tools that you need to do this. The best thing is that it is free.
I got a phone call from this number last night at 8pm... and i answered.
I was conected to a man with a east indian accent, and this is how the convo went. He came on the line and said,
"HEELLOOOW"
i said "hello?"
He said, "oh oh yeah if you want your free wallmart $20 gift certificate, to activate, I will need your full name."
I said why?
he said why?
i said why?
He said, "is that all you know how to say, why? why? why? Don't you speak english?
I said of course i speak english, i just thought you would know who you were calling already.
He said.. (and i [***] you not) "Ok fine, Mr. Idiot" "do you want to activate your gift certificat Mr. Idiot?"
I said what did you just call me?
"Mr. Idiot"
-i didn't respond.
Then he said, "[***]!" and hung up on me.
I had the whole thing on speaker phone, and my gf heard everything. We laughed about it for a long time. I tried to call back the number, but it was an auto removal line. I'm not making this up.. the convo above really went down. I think it is a scam of some sort looking for personal info, but I really don't know.
