I did not answer. I never answer numbers I do not recognize. If its a legitimate call they will leave a message that I can evaluate and decide on my response. If the call is [***] I block the number.
The caller spoke broken English and asked if I had a Windows computer. Then when I said I did, he said security issues had been detected on my computer. I promptly hung up the phone. This kind of scamming irritates the living crap out of me; I can see it as a scam, but how many elderly people have been screwed over by these kinds of criminals?
I got the same call. Could barely understand them, but got enough to know that it was a scam. Told them to send me an email and when they asked for my address, I told them that if they were Microsoft they would have it. They hung up.
