Yeah, after the recorded message I hung up b/c strangers don't know my business and I have no credit. So if they were smart, they would make a fake name up first. It is raining stupid people already this year. *sigh!
These jerks called my cell phone, which is on the Federal Do-Not-Call list. Same old credit card interest rate scam, including "we can lower your interest rates as low as 6.9%."
I have no credit-card debt and haven't for more than 30 years.
We've stopped answering our land line because most calls are junk. We would get rid of it, but Verizon's bundling policy means that we would pay more for less service.
Got the call from the same number.
But it's name is now "Credit Card Services."
Same pitch to lower interest rates. I pressed 2 and got a live person. When I pressed for more info about this company, she hung up.
They know they are doing something shady and illegal.
We've stopped answering our land line because most calls are junk. Now they are calling my cell and the number is on the DNC List. What a joke that is! Telemarketers can spoof their numbers.
Same thing, told me credit card services is their name and they offer a lifetime interest rate reduction to 6.9% as long as I pay on time.
They already had my cell# and the amount I owe on 2 different cards.
Told me a supervisor would be calling me in 30 minutes.
He called, I asked if there was going to be a fee and he said yes, $596.00. I told him I changed my mind and he asked me why I would waste everybodys time and change my mind......etc etc.
Told him not to charge my accounts for anything and thank you for his offer, Good BYE
