A "Microsoft Windows Support" person called at 7:08 EST with a destinctive Pakistani accent.
Normally, like "T" above, I do a "pay-it-forward" by wasting as much of their time as possible so it becomes less economical for them to scam other people. But it was a bit early and I just hung up. My record time waster was over an hour, continuously putting them on soft hold while continued on with reading a book. If everyone donated a little time scamming the scammers they would have a hard time retaining their employees.
Received call at 7:35am. Answered and said hello. After a few seconds a woman responded saying she was from Microsoft and that my computer was at serious risk. I asked her if she realized it was 7:30 in the morning and she kept on her script by saying yes I know but this is an urgent matter. Your computer needs fixing immediately and she is a representative from Microsoft who could help me. I further said my computer is not even turned on right now and she said it didn't matter she could still help me. I then asked her if she could help me if I have an Apple computer and use MAC as my operating system. She hung up promptly. Unbelievable scam artists......
Called me at 8 am this morning. I was sleeping. Looked at the number and hung the phone back up. If I answer any of these calls and they say they are Microsoft or google which has been done. I tell them." You are lying ______ would not be calling on the phone. They usually just hang up once I say this.
Called at 8 a.m. got my answering machine. Did not leave a message. Obviously a scammer! Why do they call so early when all they will get is an answering machine? Idiots!
Got same call . woman of east indian descent. Got me out of bed this morning at 6 am. Damn computer people are at it again. I finally said I don't have a computer and you woke me up and she hung up
