Portfolio Recovery is the lowest bunch of scumbags! I tried to resolve a debt with them, paid what I was supposed to pay and they continued to call DEMANDING I do this or do that or I would go to jail. IF I'm in a situation where I have a debt, I will try to take care of it, but I absolutely REFUSE to deal with these people in any way shape or form. Don't ever give them your account info (like write a check) or any other private info. I have never seen a company operate like this. I don't know if this is their number, but based on what others have said, it sounds like it. Avoid them at all costs. Try to handle debt with original company.
