Called about a Discover Card debt that they said I owed from the mid-1990s. I explained that I didn't have a Discover Card. She read me my last 4 digits of my SS# and my home address. Asked if I ever received that letter about the lien or judgement against me. I assured her I had never received anything and I would not discuss it on the phone during business hours. I told her that nothing like this has shown up in my credit report so she asked when I checked it last. NONE of her business, but it is not there.

Called about a MasterCard from 2000. Said they had a judgement against me. Asked if I had received notification- I have not. I don't remember every having a MC, certainly not one from 17 yrs ago. I was transferred to "legal". The lady said the same thing, when I denied any knowledge and said I didn't have any debts from 17 years ago she hung up on me.
