Same thing that happened to me. He asked for someone that didn't live here, but knew my last name. Then went on about some injuries that I had, and I told him I haven't had any injuries, and he said that he must have the wrong number, and I told him I guess he did. What in the world was that about? What could he benefit with such calls?
Called 4/22. No message. I didn't answer, so that the scammer won't know if they have gotten a "live" number to sell to fellow telemarketers/scam artists. Thank God for this site so we can learn from each others experiences!
Just got a call, 5/6/2017, Saturday morning 8:45. Asked for me by name claiming they were with some Orthopaedic service, and wanted to know if I was having back or knee pain. Woman had Hispanic accent and gave Hispanic name. Sounded like a scam to me, because I could hear several other people in the background talking. So I asked why they were calling on a Saturday, and if they were a legitimate medical concern. They hung up. Within the last 2 weeks, I had seen my Orthopaedic surgeon about some issues, and had MRI and xrays done. I got to wondering if they somehow got wind of my visits and were playing me, or if this was only a coincidence. Thing was, my doctors only have my phone number and they called my wife and asked for me.
