Wife got a cold call claiming to be Dell; said we had a virus on our laptop. She gave my number because I was at home with the laptop. This number came up when they called me. Thick accent and "bad connection" so I couldn't get the service number. Wanted me to install software that would allow him to control the PC remotely. Hung up. Verified with Dell they don't cold call.
It's 2016 and this number is still active- with the caller ID showing as Laronda Butts. Called at 9:02 am on 1/27/16 and hung up on our answering machine.
There is an actual "Laronda Butts, LPN" in Mastic Beach, NY which would be in the 631 area code. Can't find this number attached to her, though. Maybe it's an old one or maybe they have spoofed the last 4 digits.
