The phone started ringing just after midnight last night, and naturally my husband and I were afraid someone was calling to tell us that something tragic had happened to one (or more) of our family members. When I picked up the phone, I heard something like: "Good! We've reached you!" When I realized it was a recorded message from a business trying to sell me something, I hung up the phone. No one wants to hear their phone ringing an hour or more after they've gone to bed--not only because they don't want to be disturbed, but because they don't want to feel the FEAR that comes with thinking they're going to hear horrible news at the other end of the line. These calls need to be stopped ASAP.
