As others have stated, this is an intimidating call related to an enforcement action by the US Treasury. I received the same call last month from 530-721-8098. The caller (Steve somebody) on the voice message had a heavy accent. It's a scam.
The voice on the other side of the call claimed to be with the US Treasury office, saying I was the target of an investigation, grand jury indictment, and back taxes, They sounded like either Indians (India) or Pakistanis. The pronounced W s like V s. You know the drill. They wanted a credit card numbe to charge me $6,678.00 to make the problem go away. Buna Baglappa told them to Fu_K off.
Big scam here don't call back that number that's where they try to scam you out your money. They will lie act like a officer say a lawsuit vs me jail time anything to try to scare people. I hope more people report this to the FBI, police newspaper, mayors office, post on fac book, I don't want to see no one fall for this fake IRS scam
I just received the fourth call from this number. Same person on the other end says that he's Steve Martin from the US Treasury insisting that I appear before a judge for Federal criminal offences. Have reported them to the police and will contact the AG for New York state (where the call originated from).
