I received the text as well.  I did a Google search on the phone number and email address.  I believe it is Verizon.  I am eligible for a new phone.  Therefore, it could be a sales call disguised as a "courtesy" call.  In the research, it directed me to a Verizon Center at a local mall near my home.  Maybe this might help.
