They called at 5:30p on Friday night and asked for my husband by name - including his middle initial! They said they were doing a customer survey for Bank of America. I told him that my husband wasn't home (even tho he was!) and asked him if he worked for B of A and he said no, just doing a survey. I don't him I wasn't interested - it's no one's business (especially a COMPLETE stranger) what our banking habits are!
I was getting constant calls from Maritz Research, The DNC list is a POS, the phone company won't stop them because they are a cash cow. The only way to stop them is to take control of your phone and get a phone blocker. Maritz was the reason I bought a phone blocker from Digitone.com to stop them. LOVE it. You can block individual # or area code, or exchanges. EG: 866-###-####, 636-203-####. It can block 80 number combinations. I have had it for about 2 months now and it works great. There are different types of blockers out there to compare. Most important things to check out is the capacity of the numbers you can block and the ability to use wild cards (#) to block for area codes. You do need Caller ID.
Have called a few times in the last few days. I picked up tonight because I know someone in the area code, but not the number. Coming through as simply "Missouri" on caller ID. Said they were with Bank of America, doing a survey, gave a schpiel about any information I gave them or any ideas I gave them were the property of BofA, then started in asking personal questions. I told them I didn't give out info to random callers and they said something like have a nice evening. I immediately called BofA to report them.
