They do call quite often. If I answer the phone, when they say it's being taped, I tell them wait a second, let me put my tape on. Then I rattle my Dremel box and they hang up.
Have no idea what they want.
I keep getting calls from this number, day, evenings, early mornings, and even at 9:00 PM, Pacific time. As mentioned above, they Never leave a message. Since I don't know who the heck they are, I never pick up the line. I did pick it up about a half hour ago (8:00 am, Pacific time), and had to say "hello" four times before some Creature at the other end responded. There was so much static, and I could not understand one single word he said, I yelled back for him to take food out of his mouth, and hung up.
I've received similar calls and found out the static comes from the use of a cell phone, probably disposable, until they feel they are being tracked. I don't believe the FBI will be able to track them because I received a similar call from a Creature in Stockton, CA who then "transferred" me to his "supervisor" in Arizona.(?) Since they had heavy middle-Eastern accents and could barely understand what the hell they were saying, I reported them, and made reports, to Homeland Security, FBI, Stockton PD, Pasadena PD (Stockton PD said that it was under Pasadena, CA phone jurisdiction(!)), and also the phone company which showed up as being the issuer of the phone and/or phone number. As of today, the only response I have received from the above agencies is Pasadena PD who told me to call my credit agencies (i.e., Equifax) and report it to them. :P Great job on the part of "law enforcement", guys!
